A dramatization of a short story written by a friend of ours was selected to be performed as part of the “Return of the Play of the Dead” Dramedy. It was an exciting event for everyone. When we heard the name of the theater where it would be performed, we were a bit skeptical. We searched around the Internet for clues to see if this was a legit place. We don’t go to many shows at theaters called “Psychic Visions Theatre”. Plays411.com
had a good description of the performance but nothing about the theater. On the night of the show we headed out not knowing what waits ahead. It was not difficult to find the theater on Motor Avenue. There is a visible sign with the number 3447 on it. Later we noted a much larger sign with the inscription Psychic Visions, but it was painted over, not very skillfully … hmmm … One of the hosts greeted us there are walked us into the main playroom. We walked up a flight of stairs into the theater. Two adjoining rooms were visible. One with a stage and a set of white plastic chairs was where the performance would take place … Quite interesting …

The play itself was a nice surprise. We did not know what to expect initially. What we saw was a skilfully acted and put together set of short stories written by women and dealing with the topic of death. Some stories were disturbing, some funny, some sad. All in all a most pleasant evening. Good show put on with some modest means.

“Return of the Play of the Dead” performance runs from Sat, Oct 06 – Sat, Nov 17 (Saturdays, 8:00 p.m.). A definite recommendation, especially for the small theater going connoisseur.
