Culver City just got a new downtown eatery. Even though we have lunch in Culver City daily, we did not notice this restaurant until two days ago. It blends in too well. Of course, curiosity got the best of us and we decided to take the plunge: Let's go eat there (we thought) ....
Honey's Kettle Chicken in Culver City


Honey's Kettle Chicken has a very pleasant exterior. The main copper sign for the restaurant is cool. There is a mock fireplace with a kettle in the window facing the street. Let's face it, it's done well and sure made us interested enough to go inside.

Once inside we noticed a well done interior. The order line at the counter was not very long (5-6 people), but it was slooowwwww. We waited more than fifteen minutes to get our order in. If you are out just for lunch you get antsy waiting for so long. This is an area for improvement. Our order was ready within ten minutes. Everyone ordered the lunch special (under $6). This included two pieces of chicken, biscuit and fries. The food was solid. This is a quick food establishment and not a gourmet restaurant and should not be judged that way. With that said the meal was tasty and filling. Get the lemonade. It's worth it. They make it really well. Staff was very pleasant. We will probably visit it again at our lunch break ...
