Dinner at brix@1601 Restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach, CA

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: The recent (relatively) opening of brix@1601 restaurant seemed to be welcomed by everyone in the South Bay. It brought another nice dining establishment to the area and another option for special occasion dinners. We decided to try it a few weeks ago and yes it was a special event. We made reservations a week in advance and had no trouble getting a table for two at the early 5.30pm dinner hour. On the day of our visit we drove to Hermosa Beach and parked inside the mall that houses Brix. Parking was free. There were signs at the entrance to the parking structure about paying, etc. but the ramps were open and everyone else just whizzed in.

Rate and Review : Dinner at brix@1601 Restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach, CA

Indian Buffet Lunch at Angara Indian Restaurant in Torrance, California

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: I have been on a roll recently, trying to visit every Indian lunch buffet in the area. OK, I do have some minimum requirements. The online reviews have to have some positive note about the place to be considered. Angara Indian Restaurant passed the initial test and I headed out to try their food. I realized that I forgot to bring the exact address of this establishment while I was already on the road. Luckily, Angara was listed in Garmin GPS's list of Indian restaurants in Torrance. That was convenient. No excuse now in not being able to find it.

Rate and Review : Indian Buffet Lunch at Angara Indian Restaurant in Torrance, California

The Henry Ford, Greenfield Village & the Detroit Institute of Arts

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: It was still dark outside when I woke up from my restful slumber at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel. There was some commotion going on outside on the street: thousands of people were milling about in preparation for the Detroit Free Press Marathon, a big annual event for runners. I got dressed and hurried outside to catch the start of the race. Thousands of onlookers watched as the runners lined up behind the start line, ready to kick off the long distance race. In addition to the traditional marathon, the schedule also included a half-marathon, a relay and a 5 km fun run. The most unique feature of the Detroit Marathon is its international course which takes it through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel into Windsor, Canada, and across the Ambassador Bridge back to Detroit. The tunnel portion of the marathon is the only official underwater mile in the world as most of the tunnel is under water.

Rate and Review : The Henry Ford, Greenfield Village & the Detroit Institute of Arts

Lunch at Al Noor Pakistani and Indian Cuisine in Lawndale, CA

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: This is one of the small local restaurants that gets really good online reviews from visitors. I visited it several years ago and was not impressed but wanted to give it another chance. I craved a good Chicken Korma last week and Al Noor came to mind. A quick drive down Inglewood Boulevard brought me to this restaurant. It is located in a small strip mall just North of the junction of the 405 freeway and Inglewood. There is a parking lot for this mall in front and seems to handle the lunch crowd well.

Rate and Review : Lunch at Al Noor Pakistani and Indian Cuisine in Lawndale, CA

Visiting the Central Park Zoo in New York City, New York

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: After visiting the Central Park on numerous occasions in the past, it was finally time to pay a visit to the Central Park Zoo. On a warm but partially rainy day we bravely headed out into the wild concrete of New York City on our way to the Central Park. We took a taxi as that was the most convenient (quickest) way to get there. I am not even sure where one would park if driving in by car. We arrived at the gate just before eleven o'clock in the morning. Lines at the ticket counters were non existent. It was a workday after all.

Rate and Review : Visiting the Central Park Zoo in New York City, New York

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Canada - Host Country
Canada is a living mosaic of peoples and cultures from around the world. Over centuries, people from virtually every country in the world have joined Canada's First Nations, making Canadian society truly multicultural. This is refected in Canada's national policies and constitution - from its offcial bilingualism to its protection of rights and freedoms for all - and in Canada's international outlook.

British Columbia - Host Province
Located on Canada's west coast, the province of British Columbia (BC) is Canada's third largest province, covering 944,735 square kilometres.
Dinner at Nan Thai-French Restaurant on Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: One of the things we look at when choosing a restaurant is, of course, the Zagat rating. We have found it to be a quite reliable indicator of the dining establishments around the country. When a restaurant scores a twenty six on their food quality scale and the prices are reasonable then there is really not much discussion there. We have to go there. Such was the case with Nan Restaurant. Very well reviewed online plus a great Zagat rating. It was also within walking distance from our hotel. Nan is a Thai-French restaurant and as the name says serves both types of cuisines. We were principally interested in the Thai dishes as they were lauded exceptional by Internet reviewers.

Rate and Review : Dinner at Nan Thai-French Restaurant on Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
